Importing png file with transparency

Postby woolymammoth » Thu Mar 14, 2019 5:13 pm

A client has sent me a photo to convert where she wants no background. I have photoshopped out the background and saved as a png with the area transparent. When importing it, the software interprets the transparent area as dark navy blue. Experimenting with a couple other pictures has the same result. Is there a way to import a picture so the transparent area remains background? When the dark navy appears elsewhere in the picture, it involves time consuming fussing to save the desired color stitches.

I also tried doing a Copy Visible and importing from the clipboard. XSPro gives this error message, then shuts down after clicking OK.

Error
Access violation at address 00C6212E, accessing address 810CC48B.

A bit of experimenting shows the same error message when trying to import any picture from the clipboard, with or without transparency.

Current version seems to import from clipboard fine but I will add transparency.

Just posted an update that imports transparent pixels with no stitch. For partly transparent pixels, It will treat anything with 50% or more transparency as an empty stitch and anything with less transparency as a solid stitch.
